This pretty buckskin mare is gentle, handy, and FUN to ride. She’s the kind of pony kids can enjoy while still having enough handle and ability to make her useful.

She’s been used to gather cattle and do all the everyday ranch chores. She’s willing, easy to get along with, and goes wherever she’s pointed. She’s also been hauled to playdays and has done the barrels, poles, flags, and all the fun events.

What we love most about her is that she’s gentle without being boring. She’s easy, forgiving, and confidence-building, but still has enough go when asked to make her a blast to ride.

Wine glass smooth. That’s the best way to describe THE WAR DOG, aka “Smooth.” He’s the kind everyone calls on—dependable, broke, and the same horse every time you saddle him.

Smooth has earned his stripes as a ranch and heel horse, he’s also been the called on for our kids at the JR Rodeos, he’s even been used to give a few lessons on to some beginners. He’s great to sort cattle on, doctoring outside cattle, shipping, riding pens, you name it he’s wrote the book. He knows his job and goes to work without hesitation. He has great lead departures both ways, and old ranch horse style turn around and a deep stop. He’s soft in the bridle and handy to have around. 

The coolest part about this horse is his mind and heart. He will absolutely give you 200% when you have a job to do and it doesn’t matter how long it takes to do it he has zero quit. Or he will happily meet any of our kids at the gate, stick his head in the halter and go on whatever adventure they have dreamed up. He truly is the best of both worlds. 

What really sets Smooth apart is his disposition. He never, ever gets fresh I don’t care if he’s sat for months on end, he will come out the same perfect gentleman that he was when you put him up. This is one of the most pure geldings of o walk through our barn there is no corner cutting no cheating in his soul. Smooth will ride off in any bridle, bareback saddled, double, heck even no bridle it doesn’t matter to him. 

He is a solid citizen outside as they come, he will safely navigate rocky steep mountains, or cross rivers and creeks, he’s been rode smack through the middle of town and campaigned at every Jr rodeo in the panhandle. We’ve begged this horse to make a mistake and he just won’t do it. He’s a gentleman.
